Cinema 70

Small theater in Fernandez Juncos Avenue that opened during the porno chic years in the early 1970’s. It mostly featured Radley Metzger movies and then moved on to showing hard core flicks. The Cinema 70 closed down when the whole "porno chic" era ended.

One curious thing was that every year, on Good Friday, it would stop showing XXX movies and would show "King of Kings" that day.

After Cinema 70 closed down, it became a small retail shop.

Was this a Llamas theater originally called Teatro F in Fernandez Juncos before Stop 15 right on the outskirts of Miramar? I think before or after being the Cinema 70 it was turn into a TV studio where the late Luis Vigoreaux did his shows. As Cinema 70 it was run by the owners of Rex Cinema if I remember correctly.

Cinema 70 gained notoriety as the venue where “Deep Throat” premiered in the San Juan area, if not the island.

[Reposting] AGR: You are referring to the New San Juan which was also on Fernandez Juncos Avenue. That was the site of the F and the Vigoreaux studio.
