The theater was started by Holiday Theaters in 1972 before Wallace Theater had taken over in 1992. It was twinned on November 12, 1993. The theater apparently did very good business, but was sold due to how cheap the rent was. Pacific Shopping Mall (now Nakatani Shopping Center) gave Wallace a “six-figure sum” for them to leave, and the Nanakuli Cinemas closed on August 2, 1998. While there was competition at the then-newly created Consolidated multiplex in Kapolei, Wallace benefited because of the original lease. The owners of the mall wanted to break the lease in order to make a better profit.

After its closure, it became a community center, then a church. It currently houses a supermarket.

The theater is in Waianae, in the district of Nanakuli.
