After ten years, Brudenell-Woods stepped down from active involvement in the cinema – which had been re-named ‘Regent’ shortly after the introduction of ‘talkies’. Moving to Mona Vale on Sydney’s northern beaches, he became a ‘nurseryman’ at nearby Warriewood - known for its market gardens. The Regent was leased to Arthur Thomas Craven from May 1934. One of his first acts was to reduce the seating capacity to under 1,000 - thereby qualifying for a reduced annual license fee (£2 instead of £10). Auditorium 684 Gallery 309 Total 993 seats.
