The Alhambra was opened as a 300-seat music hall in December 1906. It was so succesful that in 1910 a 175-seat balcony was added. In 1931 it was remodelled by the architectural firm Gray & Evans who were based in Liverpool, UK. with French architect Georges Gumpel. It converted into cinema use in 1932, and was still open in 1967. It had closed by 1975. An apartment block now stands on the site.
