Grand Cinema

The Electric Palace was opened in 1913. Seating was provided in stalls, and a small balcony. The projection box was beneath the balcony.

It was taken over by the local Wood’s Picture Halls Ltd. chain in 1919 and re-named Grand Cinema. They operated it until 1921 when it was closed.

The building was taken over by J. Forrester & Sons Ltd. and operated as a furniture store, which still operates from the building today.
