No timeline as to when this cinema opened but it was opened by Martin Theatres and is now part of the Carmike chain. The theatre does feature digital projection and sound, 3D capabilities and first run attractions. It must do a fair amount of business that Carmike has kept a two screen open. Of course there are no other theatres in Americus playing first run movies. The only other motion picture theatre is the Rylander Theatre which plays their specialty movies (mostly family oriented). The Cinema 2 closed in June 2016.
