Located on the same block as the LeRoy Theater, the Rio Theater dates back to at least 1940. The Rio Theater is still listed in 1955 with 437 seats. Closed prior to 1965 when the building was converted to retail use. The building is currently occupied by Suddenlink Communications, a phone, tv and internet provider.

I have been looking for a photo of the RIO Theater which was once in the location in the photo above. (the photo above is a business, not the theater.) The RIO was at this location from the 1940’s up until the early 1960’s. I have tried to research the theater at the library in town, but all that can be found is the name of the theater and nothing else. If anyone has seen an actual photo please share it
