Site has been redeveloped into housing, looks like everything has gone except for the exit road (and gates?) and some trees in the north west corner.

There may still be the snack bar/projection room, entrance(and/or exit?) road, and some ramps still there? Some of the the trees are being retained on site.

Why didn’t they(at the end of the drive-in’s run) screen movies that had not yet been released on video?

Opeaned as Goulburn Village Drive-in in 1972 until 1982, when the name changed to Kenric Drive-in, which it remained until closure in 1986.

Last movies to shown there was SUMMER RENTAL & WEIRD SCIENCE (and they both were on video at the time, so nobody went and that was that). Last movie was my sister and I went to see DOWN & OUT IN BEVERLY HILLS ((down & out was the condition of the venue and the screen was murky to see..we didn’t stay for the second feature coz it was repeated every weekend)

And being the only drive in in the region , the weekly program changed to cater for all tastes. Thursday to Saturday , Adults Only Sunday & Mon to.Wednesday. During Kenric brief run Tuesday night was closed due to poor box office takings.

If anyone can supply photos of this long lost treasure it would be greatly appreciated.
