Built on the site of the Starr Theatre (which has its own page on Cinema Treasures). The Upstate Films opened as a 16mm cinema on May 20, 1972. It was twinned on July 9, 1999. Now operated by a non-profit member supported arts organization, who also operated the former Tinker Street Cinema in Woodstock, NY, also renamed Upstate Films which was closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and still operate the Orpheum Theatre, Saugerties (both of which have their own pages on Cinema Treasures). This Upstate Films was renamed Upstate Films Starr Cinema in 2021.
