The Weigel Theatre was opened in 1917. The theatre could accomodate 200 patrons. If there ever was a one horse mountain town it was Idaho City. I was surprised to find a theatre existed. Most all of the buildings look like stables and the sidewalks are all wood planks. I could find no history after 1950 and one of the older residents said the building was still standing just down the street, he couldn’t remember it past the 1950’s. This was quite the trip for me, I was along with my friend from Boise to look at some horses he was planning to buy.

If you know more of the history of the Weigel Theatre please add it to this page.
