A major renovation of the Alpine Theatre occurred in 1964. The theatre was gutted and renovated as the Lynn Theatre relaunching on December 23, 1964 as the Lynn Theatre by owners Ed and Julia Lynn of the Tri-State Drive-In Theatre in Hancock, Maryland.

Had a chance to visit this Theatere over vacation & spoke to the new owner, he has great plans for the building. The theater looks great inside & out . Popcorn is made in a vintage Manley popcorn machine. I highly recommend a visit .https://startheatrewv.com/

Appears this event was this past weekend at the Star Theatre.

The Star theatre has just converted to digital. They’ve also repainted throughout and installed a new screen. Ticket prices went up to help pay for this (adults now cost $4.50 – still very reasonable).

Correct history: Movies shown at the Star since 1928. Structure originally built in 1916 as a car storage garage. Known as the Berkeley Theater, it was leased by the Alpine chain in 1948. Current decor dates to that period. Became the Lynn Theatre in early 60s until current owners opened the Star in 1977.
