St. Ronan's Hall

St. Ronan’s Hall is included here to complete the picture in this small town in County Fermanagh. The hall opened in 1919 and I understand that the first film shows in the town were held here, overseen by the Fairs and Markets Committee. Presumably films ceased when the town’s first full-time cinema opened, which appears to have been in the early 1930’s. If so, another reason for ceasing films would have been to avoid the installation of sound equipment in the hall. Today the hall continues as a community centre.
