In Portadown, County Armagh, the Picture House opened in 1911. The 1931 Kine Year Book shows it as being operated by Irish Empire Palaces Ltd. The same operator is shown in the 1940 edition, with seating given as 750; by 1953 this had been reduced to 343. I believe the cinema was also known, perhaps informally, as Summerson’s.
