Imperial Cinema

Located in Methil, Fifeshire, at the corner of Fisher Street & McDonald Street. The Imperial Cinema was opened in 1925. It had a 22 feet wide proscenium. Around 1930 it was equipped with a British Acoustic(BA) sound system. It was independently operated.

It was equipped with CinemaScope in 1955, and was taken over by the J.B. Milne chain in the early-1960’s. The Imperial Cinema was closed in 1976, and was converted into the Kingsway Bingo Club.

This has since closed and the building was demolished by 2012 to build a block of flats on the site.
