Opened around 1928 as the Strand Theatre. In the 1930’s the name was changed to the Mission Theatre. On July 3, 1945 the theatre was renamed the Joy Theatre. The Joy Theatre is listed in the 1950 Film Daily Yearbook with 283 seats.
