Orange Lake Drive-In

I believe the Orange Lake opened in 1955 with the ability to hold 150 cars. It was operated by Mrs. Virginia Durkee. The CinemaScope screen tower was blown down on June 28, 1959. Ruby Viens, operator of the drive-in at that time, said that it would be replaced in two weeks. However, on February 18, 1960, the screen tower was destroyed again by high winds. The screen tower was again rebuilt. In August of 1960, V. O. Viens sold the drive-in theatre to Bernard Goodrich. In 1965 it was put up for sale. I don’t know if it was sold or not. It was still listed in the 1970 Film Catalog. There are no traces of the drive-in theatre left and it appears to be an empty lot.
