Opened as the Crystal Theatre prior to 1910. It seated 400 and was later named the Bandbox Theatre. It closed in 1931. The site is now an office building.

Opened as the Crystral Theatre in 1910, owner was Gustave Schmidt.
Polk’s 1919 Indianapolis City Directory lists the Crystal Theatre at 119-21 N. Illinois Avenue. The theater might have moved to a new building at some point, unless the lots were renumbered or there was an error in the directory.
A list of theaters in the November 25, 1916, issue of The Indianapolis News also places the Crystal at 119 N. Illinois, so the 1919 directory listing was likely not an error. If the house ended up at 137 Illinois either it was renumbered or it moved.
