The Poplar Bluff Drive-In opened on June 23, 1950. The car capacity was listed at 600 and it was operated by Kerasotes Theatres. The drive-in was still open in the mid-1980’s. It has since been demolished and the AMC Showplace Poplar Bluff 8 is now on the site of the former drive-in. (the showplace was originally operated by Kerasotes Theatres also).

The address above is incorrect. The address for AMC Classic Poplar Bluff 8 is 3525 S. Westwood Blvd. Poplar Bluff MO 63901.

The May 6, 1950 issue of BoxOffice reported, “POPLAR BLUFF, MO. – The 500-car Poplar Bluff Drive-In on Route 67 near here will be opened early in June by Clyde Hogg and Clyde Richardson.”
Followed by an aside on June 24, 1950, “Andy Dietz of Cooperative Theatres … will book and buy for the Poplar Bluff Drive-In, which opened June 23 near Poplar Bluff, Mo.”
