Not to be confused with the nearby Oak Park Plaza Theatres. The AMC Oak Park Mall 6 was opened October 22, 1975. It was closed in January 1997.

This opened as the first 6-plex cinema complex in the state of Kansas by AMC on October 22nd, 1975 and closed in 1985. A grand opening ad can be found in the photo section for this cinema.
Correction: Closed January 1997, not 1985.
So many memories of this theater, went most weekends from around 1984-85. I still remember when they got cherry coke for the first time! Went there with friends on my 11th birthday to see “Rambo: First Blood 2” and when my Grandpa saw the poster he said it was too violent and wouldn’t let us see it. We ended up seeing “Teen Wolf” instead.
