Century Cinema

Located in the Borgerhout district to the east of the city centre. Opened in 1909 by billard champion van Duppen as zaal Olympia. It became a movie theatre in the 1930’s and in 1932 was renamed Corso Cinema. In the 1940’s it became the Riga Cinema. Taken over by George Heylen group it became the Century Cinema in the 1950’s, and was also called Studio Century Cinema which closed 2nd July 1976. It was re-opened as a theatre bar, presenting live theatre and community centre. The auditorium was later demolished, but the façade remains.

after closing as a cinema became theatre drink ,live performances and cultural centre since then closed
