Gaite Rochechouart

Located in the north of central Paris, near the Louxor Cinema. The Gaite Rochechouart was opened as a 900-seat concert hall, it became a cinema in 1914 but was destroyed by fire in 1923. It was rebuilt in 1933 to the plans of architectural firm Beaumont & Beslin with 750-seats, reopening on 10th February 1933 with Dickie Moore in “No Greater Love”. It screened films in their original language versions. In 1978 a second screen with 203-seats was added. It specialised in Karate films. It was closed in 1988.

In 2014 it operates as a clothing store.
