Here we see the new entrance fitted out in the Art Deco style by local Architect Robin Thomas who was contracted to modernise the existing building. This was to be his second cinema in Portsmouth, earlier in 1934 he had built the Carlton cinema at Cosham. Thomas’s twelfth and final cinema in Portsmouth the Forum opened on 8th September 1938.
