Cineplex Cinemas Yorkdale

This theatre opened on June 25, 1999, with Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Tarzan, Big Daddy, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, The General’s Daughter, and Notting Hill. It opened with 10 screens, stadium seating, digital sound, THX certification in all theatres, Playdium Techtown, and various food vendors (Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, New York Fries, Wetzel’s Pretzels and Surf City Squeeze). The grand opening ad for June 25, 1999, said it opens tomorrow, but the listings for that day contradict it. Cineplex renamed the theatre to Cineplex Cinemas Yorkdale in 2015.
