The Albany cinema was the second Post War cinema to be built after the Phoenix Cinema Wallasey, by Leslie Blond who started a small chain of cinemas in the late 1940’s. The second new build the Albany became his largest seating capacity of the six Blond controlled by 1955 under his Company Tenetes Properties Ltd., the Albany was designed and constructed by Henderson & Glass Ltd of Liverpool, who had previously built the Phoenix Wallasey.
