End of the line! The Franklin Theatre closed July 1, 1960 after a screening of Lana Turner in “Imitation of Life”. While the ad said closed the rest of July, the theater would not reopen. Hosting rummage sales and other public events, the building would be repurposed for a music store and other retail ventures in 1963.
