Westview Drive-In Mitchell Highway and Westview Street, Dubbo, NSW

Many of you many be aware that the icon that was the Dubbo Westview Drive-in that stood above our proud city since 1969 has sadly come down.

I can remember as a child living at Gollan that the trip to Dubbo was complete once I saw that screen across the horizon coming over Mugga Hill.

This site has been a significant part of mine and my families life again since 2017 and we were able to share the wonders of a night at the drive-in with tens of thousands of others since it was re-opened. Thankfully the love of this place wasn’t one that we held alone and some amazing locals have come forward to attempt to save one of what will soon be one of only two drive-ins in NSW.

Last weekend a passionate crew of drive-in and nostalgia lovers attended to disassemble the iconic screen to hopefully relocate it locally to maintain this icon for this and future generations to understand what a night at the drive-in was all about.
