The National Hall was opened in 1906 by Nicholas Bushalla on the north side of the Duke of York Hotel to be used as a live venue, but also showed movies from September 1908. Last movies shown in the National Hall seen to be in 1916? The National Hall was demolished(date unknown?), and the site is now the car park for the Duke of York Hotel.
