Prior to Demolition

Located in Nowra, NSW at the corner of Junction Street and Berry Street, opposite the post office. The Crown Theatre was built on the site of an earlier (1915) theatre. The Crown Theatre opened in 1930. In late-1940 it was extensively remodelled in a Streamline Moderne style to the plans of Sydney based architect Aaron M. Bolot. It re-opened as West’s Theatre in March 1941. By 1946 it was operated by E.C. Potts who also operated the town’s Roxy Theatre.

The West’s Theatre was still open in 1960, but had closed by 1968 and has since been demolished.
