Inaugurated on 1st January 1930 with the name Trianon Palace. It had capacity for 538 spectators. Built by Augusto de Ornelas Bruges and designed by architect Raul Lino. After closing for renovations, it reopened on January 24th, 1931 with the new name of Palace Cinema and bigger capacity (768 seats). The cinema was again renovated between March 28, 1955 and November 29, 1956, reopening on the latter date under the name “Avis”. The cinema shut down for good in 1988 and its building demolished giving way to residential dwellings.
