Charleston Drive-In

Opened as the E-I Drive-In on May 1, 1953 with Piper Laurie in “Has Anybody Seen My Gal”. It had been renamed Charleston Drive-In by 1955. It had closed by May 1983 when it was being dismantled. Entrance is now a floral shop. Looks like the field itself is a condominium complex.

The Decatur IL Herald and Review wrote on May 25, 1983, that the drive-in in Charleston “has been dismantled” and its land was being sold.
