Plaza Theatre

The Plaza Theatre was built on a corner site and opened in 1932 with 500 seats. In 1940 the seating capacity was increased to 650 by adding a balcony. By 1971 the seating capacity had been reduced to 250 (possibly only using the balcony?).

By March 1986, a new entrance was placed on the side wall of the auditorium and a new projection box was installed. The former foyer and rear stalls were in retail use. The balcony had been proposed to be converted into flats, but these plans were scrapped and the balcony was unused.

In 2016 the building is a Terry White Chemist.
