The 49 Drive-In (Sanatorium) was opened in October 1950 when it was operated by Mrs H.A. Everett. It was closed in June 1989. Now a residence. The screen is still up. When this drive-in was open, Simpson Highway 149 was Highway 49 and this area was part of Mageehe MS.

It’s kind of hard to tell from the aerial photos but the snack bar may also still exist on the site.

The 49 Drive-In Opened Its Gates In October 1950 According To A Blog Of Information From The Main Owner, Mrs. H.A. Everette Who Appeared On The Magee Courtier On September 27th, 1990. This Theater Ran For 38 And A Half Years Until The 49 Drive-In Closed In June 1989.

The editors messed up the spelling of Magee, but some of the other info checks out.

Boxoffice, Nov. 11, 1950: “MAGEEHE, MISS. - The Mageehe Drive-In at Mageehe, Miss., has opened under the management of Mrs. H. A. Everett. Motiograph sound, projectors and lighting equipment was installed by the Hodges Theatre Supply Co. The new outdoor cost about $75,000. Mrs. Everett also is owner of another theatre here.”
