Victor Theater

The Victor Theater, in the Oakland/North Kenwood neighborhood, stood on E. 43rd Street near S. Ellis Avenue. The Ellis Theatre & Shakespeare Theatre stood directly across the street from the Victor Theater. The Victor Theater is mentioned in The Moving Picture World as early as June 1911, and is still shown as being in operation in 1915. By 1923, however, a music store is shown in Chicago Tribune advertisments at this address. Today, the site is a large vacant lot.
