The Abbey Cinema opened on 20th June 1947 with “Wings of the Morning”, which featured the Irish tenor John McCormack appearing as himself, and closed on 18th August 1963 with “Judgment at Nuremberg”. Subsequent uses have included an antique shop, a vintage clothing store and a coffee shop.
