Sun-Aire Drive-In

Now part of the Cathedral City Auto Row. Perez Drive is where the entrance road was located. The Acura dealership occupies most of where the theatre stood. The Sun-Aire Drive-In opened October 3, 1950 and closed February 2, 1987. It was demolished March 3, 1987. This theatre played adult films from 1969 to 1974.

The Sunair Drive-In Theatre opened October 3, 1950 and closed February 4, 1987 showing Hispanic films and a regularly-scheduled swap meet. It was demolished on March 3, 1987 to make way for an auto complex.

Final night of drive-in operation was February 2, 1987 with “5 Nacos Asaltan Las Vegas” and “Tacos De Oro”. The Sunair had its last swap meet the following day before relocating to Indio.
