Located in the city centre. The U.T. Lichtspiele Theater im Schwan was opened on 4th September 1920 with Pola Negri in “Sumurun” directed by Ernst Lubitsch. It was designed by architect Simon Ravenstein and was operated by Ufa. Seating was provided for 1,014 with 825 in the orchestra and 189 in the balcony.

The Ufa-Theater im Schwan was destroyed by allied bombs in March 1944.

A new cinema Metro im Schwan was built on the site in 1948, opening in December 1949, which has its own page on Cinema Treasures.
