Originally built as the Grand Opera House it became the Hippodrome Theatre. The Delphus Theatre was located on the south side of The Square and was opened around 1908 by I.P. Williams and it was listed in the 1914-1915 edition of American Motion Picture Directory. On 8th August 1934 a new Delphus Theatre opened in the adjacent former Royal Theatre. The original Delphus Theatre was closed.
