The Rink Cinema had opened by 1913 and was originally run by the Sligo Living Picture Company, but was sold to a Mr Monson in 1914 having suffered an operating loss. It held 680 people over three tiers, stalls, parterre and balcony. It fell victim to fire on 9th October 1916 and never reopened. The name suggests it was probably a conversion of a skating rink turning to films when the craze went out of fashion. The area has been redeveloped.
