Located at 16 Wauchope Avenue in the Craigmillar district to the southeast of Edinburgh. The County Cinema was built on the site of the Rio Cinema which had been destroyed by fire in October 1946.
The County Cinema was opened on 29th August 1950 with Robert Paige in “Red Stallion”. It was designed by architect Thomas Bowhill Gibson in a Streamline Moderne style. It was closed in October 1963 and was converted into a bingo club.
It has since been demolished.
