The Ritz Theatre was opened by W.L. “Pick” Moseley on September 17, 1941. The Avenue B theatre held 650 patrons with a balcony for African American patrons. In 1946, Nick Lamatia purchased the theatre and it became part of Theatre Services Company of New Orleans. The Ritz Theatre was still open in 1957. It appears to have closed as a Gulf State Theatre property.
