Previous Names: Majestic Theatre
The Majestic Theatre was opened on October 24, 1910. It was closed in 1930. It reopened on April 12, 1936 with Fred Astaire in “Top Hat” By 1941 it was operated by Paramount Pictures Inc. through their subsidiary A.H. Blank. It was closed on January 11, 1932 with Edward Arnold in “All That Money Can Buy” (The Devil and Daniel Webster).
It was reopened on December 25, 1951 as the Woods Theatre with “Yesterday’s Hero”, and was closed on December 15, 1955 with Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis in “You’re Never Too Young” & Ginger Rogers in “The First Travelling Saleslady”. By the summer of 1959 it had been converted into office space.
