Originally opened as the Ellis Avenue Theater in 1909, this small theater was located on S. Ellis Avenue at E. 63rd Street, in the Woodlawn neighborhood. The “Avenue” portion of the name was later dropped. The theater closed around 1917 and today the site is a vacant lot.
