Cinema des Champs-Elysees

Located adjacent to the UGC Grand Normandie cinema. Originally a conference room for the daily newspaper Le Petit Parisian. In 1930 it was converted into the 350-seat Cinema des Champs-Elysees to the plans of architect Lacourrege. All seats were on a single sloping floor. It was opened on 17th January 1931 with the MGM film “Monsieur Le Fox” starring Andre Luguet. Initially it played mainly MGM films.

In 1962 it was enlarged to 500-seats to the plans of architect Paul Debreuil. It was still open in 1975 but had closed by the end of the 1970’s. By 2017 it was a Mercedes-Benz car showroom and a section of it became a 290-seat auditorium for the adjacent UGC Grand Normandie. The car showroom section of the building was vacant in 2022/2023.
