Located in the Hulme district to the south of the city centre. The Bijou Electric Theatre was opened in April 1910. It was taken over by the J.F. Emery Circuit in 1926. It was closed in January 1932 and began use as a boxing arena. It was reopened and re-named Bijou New Cinema in the 1930’s and operated until December 1936 when it was closed & demolished.

The J.F. Emery Circuit built the Luxor Cinema on the site (which has its own page on Cinema Treasures)
