Located in Ballinrobe, County Mayo. The Popular Cinema was certainly active as a cinema between 1936 and 1949 and was built by John B. Staunton. It had a Philips sound system fitted and had 360 seats. It was run by Joseph Gannon by 1940 but turned into a garage when the Rex Cinema opened in Bridge Street. The cinema was listed in the Kine Year Book until at least 1956.
