Located in Prosperous, County Kildare. The Ideal Cinema was certainly operating in the late-1950’s three times a week. It was run by Ernie Price whose grandson states that films continued into the late-1970’s or early-1980’s. The building is now occupied by a series of small shops and known as the Ideal Shopping Centre. Films returned to the town in February 2018 when “Mamma Mia” was screened at the Scoil an Linbh Iosa courtesy of a pedal-powered cinema.
