Trail Drive-In

The Trail Drive-In is the second drive-in for Greenville opening August 1951. Volney Hamm and his brother C.C. Hamm also operated this drive-in and Monroe Wright was the manager of both drive-in’s. The Trail Drive-In was the last to close in the early-1980’s. The concession building stood for quite a few years, but has since come down.

From the June 12, 1954 issue of Billboard: “V. E. Hamm has purchased the Hunt and Trail Drive-In theaters, Greenville, Tex., from his brother, M. E. Hamm. Monroe Wright has been named manager.”

A closer address is 1402 Commerce Dr, Greenville, TX.

Google Maps has updated their addresses and this puts it right on the property.

The property is still undeveloped. You can still see the ramps, outline, and a series of large stones which mark where the projection booth/concession stand once stood.
