Philip Bligh built a two-story brick structure to house the first Verona Theater which played silent films beginning in 1925. The short-lived effort was plagued by lack of audiences and issues with the local code enforcement. The theater was sold in 1929 without converting to sound. The Verona Theater Building was converted to retail and the building is still present in the 21st Century.
