The Alcazar Theatre launched on May 15, 1916 with Helen Ware in “Cross Current” and Weber & Fields in “The Worse of Friends”. Owner Hattie Mizelle upgraded the theatre to talkies on June 1, 1929. The Alcazar Theatre went out of business June 8, 1938 with “Yank at Oxford” starring Robert Taylor and Maureen O'Sullivan.
