The Clayton Theater opened on Midway Street just after the original theatre on Court Square closed. The new Clayton Theater launched September 27, 1946 with the film “The Well Groomed Bride” starring Ray Milland and Olivia DeHavilland and a second feature of “Voice of the Whistler” with Richard Dix. The theatre went out of business on September 7, 1957 with Grant Williams in “The Incredible Shrinking Man”.
